I’m Virginia and I have been riding at Lee Valley for about 10 years. I originally competed on show ponies as a child, before going off to university.
It was a while before I reconnected with my passion; I ended up leading horse riding tours in Australia and cattle mustering on horseback in my mid-20s, before returning to the U.K. and gaining my BHS Stages 1&2.
I now go on riding holidays all over the world and am lucky enough to have 2 Spanish horses at home - Diamanté age 15 and Caprichoso age 5.
I fell in love with Diamanté on a riding holiday in Spain at Los Olivillos. Since bringing him to the U.K. in 2016 I have competed in B.D. Prelim and Novice, and I take him out showing, highlights include Royal Windsor and the National Spanish Championships. I’ve also ridden him in parades, won the Riding Club Show in Hyde Park presenting Lee Valley Riding Club, and taken him to the gallops; he is everything I could ever ask for in a first horse.
Caprichoso is the opposite to him in every way personality wise and I am really excited about our future together.
